John C. Sterquell graduated with honors from Southern Methodist University in May 1973 and, subsequently, accepted a position with a Dallas-based real estate development and investment firm. 

 

Most of his real estate activities were carried out through Concourse Development Corporation prior to 1990, and later Mayfair Development Corporation.  He has been active in numerous raw land transactions and sales for uses ranging from single-family development, multi-family development, retail development and commercial development.  He has engaged in large office and retail users; such as Deposit Guaranty Bank, Bluebonnet Savings, Lamar Savings and HKS Architects, where he negotiated large leases ranging from 50,000 to 150,000 square feet.

 

Additionally, he arranged completion of real estate transactions involving apartments, shopping centers, residential condominiums and other similar projects resulting in an aggregated value well in excess of $1.5 billion dollars.
